I politely asked this random man to move while I took the picture. He refused*.

While visiting Stykkishólmur make sure not to miss the harbor and the lighthouse. There is a beautiful view from the top of many small islands of the Breiðafjörður fjord and of course the town itself with its little colorful houses.

Once you reach the town, drive straight to the harbor, there is only one main road. (The Icelanders are efficient, in most place you'll find only one sign and one road, you can leave your GPS at home.) In the harbor you can park your car right under the lighthouse and then look for the stairs that will take you up to the lighthouse. Before climbing observe the beautiful formation on the island rocks.

There is much more to see in Stykkishólmur and its surrounding area. You can check out my previous post here, to get more views of this town. For more of Iceland lighthouses click here.
*Remember, If you don't want to find yourself decorating other people blogs. Move from the camera frame when asked to.

Oh, the guy probably figured the picture would look even better with him in it.
All the shots are lovely. Thank you for sharing!
I guess it was all working out better for him after all. Only few get the honor to be featured on my blog, even I rarely in it.
The man makes the image more personal...he definitely knew what he was doing when he refused to move! And now the picture has a story, yes? ;-)
that picture is awesome with the guy in it! just put's the face of iceland on your photo!
in anycase. good for you for skipping b-fast. it's highly overrated anyway and i prefer not eating till 3-4 in the afternoon. i just work better? yea...eating so much (except coffee) in the morning makes one groggy during the day anyway. good luck!

El hombre en la foto es genial.
Le da caché.
So true. The guy gives story to the picture.
One of these days, I'd love to make a cameo in your blog. Maybe I can be the random anorexic in the background. I'll let you know when I make it to Iceland.
That will be interesting. There are many big fat mountains around to make you look even thinner.
it looks so clean and fresh there; pollution is not a problem right?:)
Pollution is a big problem, but not in Iceland ;) Here the air is clean and crisp and the drinking water are the best in the world.
