She is the second most famous Icelandic singer after Björk. Her name is Emiliana Torrini and she is Iceland's latest music export. She is now big in Germany, where her song "Jungle drum" reached number one at the charts. Her first real breakthrough came after she sang the "Gollum's Song", during the ending credits of Peter Jackson's film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. The offer first introduced to Björk but she refused and the rest is history.

Many people get confused when they hear Emiliana Torrini for the first time. Her voice sounds little bit like Björk's but her style is completely different. Her music is very melodic.
I first heard her when she did a cover to one of my favorite songs of all time, "Sound of silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. Although Emiliana Torrini has been an active singer for almost 15 years with seven studio albums under her arm, this year marked her first real breakthrough in international markets.
"Jungle Drum" is from her latest album "Me and Armini".

I wondered who sang that song in LOTR: The Two Towers. Nice video. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've enjoyed yours immensely.
Emiliana is great. She is my favorite Icelandic female singer. First moment possible I am taking you to her concert.
So much beauty in this world. No one can take it all in.
great! I love finding new music-but often don't know where to look! I'll be stopping by again.
Cheers*
What can I say other than, she's hot...
Hey, thanks for following my blog. I wanted to pop over and find out more about you. Iceland. Wow!
So Jungle Drum is pretty catchy...had my toes a tappin'. I wish I hadn't watched the music video though....fake leaves, horrid bug costume, cheesy expressions. Not my cup of tea. Must be something about Iceland with the singers and their costumes?
i was ready to make a witty comment, and was taken ABACK by that BIZARRE photo of Michael J.
sweet jesus.
@Wine and words - Actually it is just the beginning. Icelandic winter starts right about now and lasts until April.
@Vodkamom - "Sweet Jesus". That's exactly what I said when I first sat this Michael Jackson photo.
