news in the states is a constant stream of regurgitation. If the media wasn't so dramatic about the dire situation, I think people would be a bit more relaxed. But no. People save, local business go bust, unemployment rises and we go into a deeper hole...all cyclical. the crisis ended, but i feel like it's neverending because of the constant birrage of "news" that just keeps repeating day after day. ugh.

hah, you obviously don't follow the news if you think kreppa's less of a crisis - it's worse now than ever before, more and worse things coming into light every day, taxes looming, people losing their houses and jobs as the initial help and postponing the problems about to end.

And not political? OMG!!!

I for one am in favor of a "good" news station. You know...one that would report the teenager who helped the old lady safely cross the street, a politician who was faithful to his spouse for more than 20 years, a report that no one overdosed today. You get the picture :)

Perhaps you could do as the U.S. news agencies do ...

Perhaps you could do as the U.S. news agencies do and manufacture news. It's called polling. You could ask questions like, "Should President Obama wear a tie more often?" But then, don't forget, you can run that poll every month. That way you get to run the story again. So that in July you report that 49% of people thought that Obama should wear a tie more often, but in August, that number SOARED to 51%. See? Even in the U.S., with the baseball and football in season and the inmates in Congress freaking out every day, we still have to face the challenge of boring news.
